On any given night in America, somewhere between 130,000 and 200,000 veterans who fought for you and me will be homeless. Many will be in shelters, many more are on the streets, under bridges, in doorways or boxes.
Over a million more are at risk of becoming homeless because of poverty and lack of support systems.
Although help is available for them, many aren’t aware of it or able to find it for themselves.
Three percent of homeless veterans are women, some with children, and that number is growing.
Over half have a disability:
- Chronic illness
Veterans list their top three needs:
- Affordable housing
Veterans list their top three stresses:
- Insufficient income
- Lack of job
- Lack of affordable housing
Our veterans need relief and they need it now.
